G.I. stuff

So today was a pretty rough day.. I was able to talk to the doctor on Monday and he recommended that Lucca have an upper GI with small bowel follow through done to see what is possibly wrong with his belly... It is a test where Lucca has to drink barium (a substance which shows up on xrays) and the doctor watches it though his stomach and his intestines to see if there is anything abnormal.. Well we had that done today and I thought I was going to have an anxiety attack today waiting for his appt time to come around. When we got back there Lucca HATED drinking the barium but he did well probably because he was SO hungry and he was such a big boy =) (It was so hard for me to see him screaming like that!).....The doctor said that he has a smaller stomach than usual and it was taking alot longer for his stomach to empty into the small intestine..which is one reason why he probably has the reflux, because his food just sits in his stomach forever before emptying..which is one problem...as for the intestines/belly part I am still waiting to hear back from the doctor to see if they saw anything abnormal..



So since Lucca has an unusually small stomach, I am thinking I might need to try smaller portions? He just always seems SO hungry that I didn't ever think that maybe I could be feeding him TOO much? Not sure, we will have to try smaller meals tonight and see if that helps. Will update later after I find out more!
